Google Goggles

Alex Asigno on December 8th in SEO

Google appear to be feeling pressure from Bing and have just released Google Goggles which is an Android-only application and allows users to search by taking a photo on their Android mobile phone.

Google admits that this new functionality is still in its infancy, but does appear to work great for products such as books, scanning business cards and saving contact details, giving information on landmarks, to even taking a photo of a shop, and by using the image and the geo-location from the phone will let you search for more information.

Anyway Google’s video says it all.

Sorry, but some bloggers (like me) think it’s important to not to publish typos and punctuation errors. Suggest you correct these: “pressure”, “Android-only”, “admits”, “landmarks”, and remove “it” after “Google admits”.

Hi Tim, thanks for the feedback. Ironic that the post is called “Google Goggles”, I should have been wearing them.

Perhaps Santa will bring me “Strunk’s Elements of Style“. :-)

Tim: sweet photo of a waterfall on your blog.

Good to have our fly-by editors like yourself. Cheers
