innovation never stops
Scot Ennis on February 12th in News with no comments yet :(Someone at Coke is uncomfortable with the status quo. After all, who says vending machines should be stationary? Have a think about your day, your to do list, try picking the most uncomfortable thing and doing that first. You’ll be surprised at the results you might get.

Switched on Media sponsors a child – our new friend Ny
Wai Chim on February 5th in News with 1 lonely commentsponsor a child like ny
Eight year old Ny lives in Kampong Speu Province in the southwest of Cambodia. He lives in a brick house with his mother and brother. Right now, Ny’s in grade 1 at his local school and while he could be considered one of the luckier kids – he has access to clean safe running water – Ny and his family have no access to health facilities.
The district he lives in used to be one of the strongholds of Khmer Rouge where heavy fighting took place during the civil war. Landmines still exist in the mountainous regions and pose a daily threat to the lives of the communities that go into the forest or work on land that has not been cleared. Villagers and residents in the local community are often left permanently disabled as a result of landmines, leaving them unable to work – in an area where food is already scarce.

News with 1 lonely commentWill the iPad do for Digital Content what the iPod did for Digital Music? (Get People to Pay!)
Wai Chim on January 29th in News with 12 comments
Poke fun at the name, call it an “iFlop”, bemoan the lack of features – USB ports, cameras and multi tasking – but the iPad is set to revolutionise the future of digital content.
Already, there are a number of opportunities for expanding the use of digital content. Some US public schools are replacing traditional textbooks with digital content media. And with the more user friendly interface of the iPad, the move to more digital content consumption seems closer than ever.
News with 12 commentsWant Longer Lasting…. ?
Jeremy Decker on January 22nd in News with no comments yet :(
We’re all aware of the controversy surrounding the “Want lasting SEX?” billboards that were seen throughout Sydney last year, but here is a company well and truly cashing in on it.
What are your thoughts on this type of piggy back marketing? Similar situations such as the “Angry Angus” campaign by Burger King prove that it can definitely be effective, but is it a fair tactic or no-go zone?

News with 3 commentsLatest Recruit: Phillip Ohren – Our new SEO Specialist
Phillip Ohren on January 7th in News with no comments yet :(Hi there, I’m Phil Ohren (O-ren) and I’m the latest addition to the SEO team here at Switched On Media. I’m originally from Birmingham England but last year my lovely girlfriend and I decided to leave old England, rope up our backpacks and head to the wonderful country that is Australia. After travelling around a fair bit and doing the usual backpacker activities we quickly decided that we wanted to stay in this awesome country as long as possible! So I began looking for jobs in the career that I have loved for so long now, SEO.
Hey presto, here I am, the newest recruit to the Switched On Media team and I hold the position of organic SEO specialist. After working with the guys at Switched On Media for a few weeks now I already feel like I’m part of the family. Everyone has been exceptionally friendly and easy going (especially at Foosball!) and I have to admit, I really do enjoy coming to work!

News with no comments yet :(Switched on Media farewells 2009
Wai Chim on December 22nd in News with no comments yet :(
It’s been quite a year of follies and foibles and the occasional witty remark. The Switched on Media team has certainly grown with Alex, Rattan, Phil, Wai, Eva, Kevin, Hannah and Jye all joining the team this year and adding their amazing skills and expertise. We have acquired some impressive new clients including PayPal, Cochlear, ThomsonReuters, Sanity and many more we can’t even begin to list. Business wise, we’ve more than doubled our revenue from 2008 and have most recently moved the team to impressive new premises in North Sydney – whew, what a year!
